When leaving her father's house with her husband Jacob, Rachel hid her father's idols beneath her saddle-pillow. When Laban, her father, came storming into the camp looking for them, Rachel said "the way of women" was upon her so she couldn't get off the pillow... and so the family was safe from Laban's wrath, and the idols removed from her father's home.

The designs of the pottery in this piece are based on archaeological findings of pottery patterns common in ancient Canaan.
