New website, new design platform, now with a primary focus on the art and only a secondary focus on my babblings in this news section. About time, right? If you're in the Atlanta area, you can see RaeAn Designs featured at the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Expo on Sunday, February 9 from 1 to 4 pm! Debbie (Rae's mother and official east-coast representative) will have a table showing Rae's unique micrography artwork, including customized Torah portion pieces -- which make great gifts for the Bar or Bat Mitzvah student! Rae's First Feature on Jewish Learning Matters

Exciting news! I've been invited to participate in the curating of content for Jewish Learning Matters, an exciting new project based out of the University of Miami, generously supported by the Jack and Harriet Rosenfeld Foundation Program in Jewish Education. My first project plan is now online, to create Blessing Calligrams (similar to those used in my HUC Curriculum Guide). It's a great idea for camp, day school, religious school, or family fun at home to create some beautiful art while also incorporating the meaning of blessings by narrowing the blessings' meaning into one "key word" and illustrating that word...

Rae Antonoff at NewCAJE

I'm thrilled to be featured at NewCAJE 5, the annual Conference for American Jewish Educators, in multiple capacities: as Young Professional fellow, presenter, and exhibitor. My art will be at the And Thou Shalt Read table at the conference in the Exhibit Hall, with a scribing demo 11 am - 1 pm on Monday, and 1-3 pm on Tuesday. I'll also be leading two workshops: "Art Projects & Backwards Design" at 9 am Monday, in which we'll apply the concepts from Wiggins' and McTighe's Understanding by Design -- with some minor modifications -- to art projects, and we'll work to...
